Gee Bee R-1
Testor's/Hawk 1/48 Gee Bee R-1 racer.
This is a nice kit - ancient and simple - but builds up well with just some filler needed at the wing roots because the one-piece wing slips through slots in the fuselage. I rigged it with wonder wire and bits of painted styrene. Raised and/or engraved lines on the wings and fuselage leave no doubt as to decal placement, but I didn't care, not wanting to turn building this into a chore, and the decals fit perfectly.
