Author and journalist John Lancaster presents on his recently published book "The Great Air Race: Glory, Tragedy, and the Dawn of American Aviation".

The book describes the US Transcontinental Air Race of 1919 and the many and varied personalities who participated in this grueling endurance test for both man and machine. An interesting aside is that, as part of his research for the book, John piloted a small single engine plane the entire 5,400 mile trip, retracing the race from NY to San Francisco...and back!!
